Our World is in Crisis: global climate change, resulting sea-level rise, resource depletion, species extinction, political unrest, war, pollution, and growing inequalities, are just some of the challenges confronting us today as a species. Under our current global-economic-system we have lost over 60% of wild-life and wild-places on Earth in just the last 50 years.
"What can we do to reverse these trends?"
If we are willing to take the science seriously then we must begin to act as global citizens committing ourselves on every level towards the total redesign of just about everything our modern economy has to offer. This is a daunting challenge and it seems many of us are asking the same question:
"What are we going to do?"
. . .
"What if" we could make this transition fun?
"What if" we could facilitate the rapid decarbonization of our shared energy infrastructure, accelerate the applied logistics for a global circular economy, and begin to regenerate life on Earth with a global world fair event?
Since its inception The World Fair—World Expo has awed and inspired an anticipating public, as a conduit introducing all the wonders of invention the Industrial Revolution has had to offer. From the steam engine to mass assembly lines, The World Fair gave us a glimpse of the world of tomorrow, today. It is now our time to set into motion the new co-creative chain-reaction of the next great Industrial Revolution.
All over the world people are becoming more attuned to the challenges confronting us today as a species, side effects directly linked to our Industrial Revolution. We are becoming deeply concerned about the the world our children are here to inherit.
We think about planned retreat, deindustrialization, and rewilding. We think about building robots to mine landfills, to plant trees, and to reseed coral reefs. We think about microgrids and cleaning up rivers. We think of remediating toxic soil and restoring habitat loss in superfund sites. We think about relocating the means of production to the point of consumption. We think about vertical farming and inner-city food security. We dream of creating peace on Earth and spreading good will towards all the living. Why? Because it makes evolutionary sense for us to do so.
Yes. Our world is in crisis!
And yes we have solutions.
Circular Cities | EXPO33 is a "proposed" GLOBAL WORLD FAIR EVENT that will happen simultaneously in every city, town, community, and region around our world. The goal, our inspiration, is the adaptation of our built environment to better care for our living world.
By utilizing the World Fair | EXPO33 as the physical platform for the restoration of Planet Earth we can in-tune accelerate the next great industrial revolution—A Global Circular Economy.
EXPO33 offers us the timeline.
Inviting local citizens to become active participants in the redesign of their local communities, embracing culture as the key driver towards the regeneration of life on Earth.
Let’s take a vision quest in design revolution!
Opening Day—Earth Day April 22nd, 2033
Let's plan a party...
This website is designed for the exploration of ideas.
It is a work in progress and is therefore constantly evolving.
It is dedicated to the Sciences—to the artists & engineers engaging reality:
Are you ready to take a vision quest in the Circular Design Revolution?
This is where the fun begins!
